I would use Sol and Basqueart for any guided tour expedition. She was always prepared the tours with wonderful painting sites, interesting visits to museums, unique hotels and excellent transportation. Sol always made sure we saw and did everything we wanted and took excellent care of us.

I would recommend her for any workshops or tours you may plan in the future.

In September of 2013, I went to the Basque Country, Spain, for a Steve Fleming workshop. It was my first class out of the country, as well as the first time I had met Sol Eizagirre of Basqueart, and it was a wonderful experience!

Communicating with Sol was delightfully smooth. I plied her with questions in multiple e-mails, to which she responded promptly, providing all the information I had requested. She was exceptionally knowledgeable about her country and provided fascinating commentaries. She had arranged tickets for us to go to three museums in Madrid and helped us locate a fourth, the Sorolla, which was not to be missed.

We had fabulous dining experiences and plenty of options for all our meals. The hotels she had arranged, in Madrid and San Sebastian were wonderful locations, and the bus that transported us was comfortable, and the drivers were flawless. We were a rather large group, so on occasion she arranged taxi transportation to and from restaurants.

The first day I discovered I was missing my watercolor paper, and Sol got me to an art supply store to remedy the problem. She was perfectly comfortable when dealing with everyone we encountered, from hotel staff, to restaurant owners, and locals providing directions.

I was deeply impressed and indebted to Sol on the final night in Spain. I managed to drop my passport in a taxi after dinner, but wasn’t aware of it for an hour or so. The hotel managers went into action immediately, and when I gave them Sol’s phone number, they contacted her and worked together to track down the taxi. Within 3 hours my passport was returned to me.

The workshop was an incredibly successful adventure and one which I highly recommend.

My workshop experience with Basqueart and Sol was extraordinary!! Two fabulous trips to the Basque Country, Spain, couldn’t have been better organized in every way … She took us to the most glorious painting sites in the day, best hotels, superlative restaurants and the most fabulous meals at night. Both workshops were truly an unforgettable experience!!
